SNCL division D
Home– 7 June 2008
A brief summary of the
game from skipper Zak Briggs.
We are struggling quite
badly with the bat at the moment, following on from the week before
where we bowled and fielded well but batted horribly.
Saturday we started pretty
well. Tim bowled a very good spell followed by Imran Shahid and
Steve Maxey bowling good spells. We kept the score down to 105
which was possibly 20 more than they should have got on a very
green seaming wicket.
We started OK with the
bat with Nabil and Methab putting on 29 for the first wicket but
unfortunately folded to 57-6. Steve and Mark took the score on
to 82 before both where out to leave us 83-8 with 5 overs remaining.
Imran Shahid (10) and Gawain (12) made it look pretty easy though
by scoring the required runs in 4 overs including Gawain hitting
a huge 6 over mid-wicket which was probably the games turning
point.
Top 6 is really suffering
at the moment for confidence, but I would hope the victory will
be a good turning point for us.
Boots folded the
week prior to the season which is why Imran Shahid and Aaimer
are back with us, that means we have 2 free weekends on the 21st
and 28th June, I think we are hoping to use the ground on the
28th for a B-B-Q/ fund raising event.
